The Birth of Everbraid: A Braided Wig Brand Created for Protective Styling & Hair Loss

The Birth of Everbraid: A Braided Wig Brand Created for Protective Styling & Hair Loss

Moving from the UK to Canada came with many exciting changes — new opportunities, new seasons, and a completely new environment. But one thing I didn’t expect to struggle with was my hair.

Back in the UK, getting my hair braided was simple. There was plenty of competition, a wide range of styles, and reasonable pricing.

When I moved to Canada, I knew I would still rely on braids — especially during the harsh Canadian winters. Braids are one of the most effective protective hairstyles, helping to shield hair from cold weather, dryness, and breakage. But my experience here was very different.

Life in Canada & the Search for Better Braids

I struggled to find braiders whose work I genuinely liked. And when I did find someone whose braiding style matched my taste, the cost was significantly higher than what I was used to in the UK.

When I finally did get my hair braided, I wasn’t impressed with the overall look or the quality. I remember leaving the salon thinking, there has to be a better way.

When Protective Styling Isn’t Actually Protective

What made this experience even more frustrating was the fact that I also suffer from traction alopecia.

For a long time, tight braids and installs put constant pressure on my edges. There were moments when I didn’t even have enough edges to comfortably braid. Something that was meant to be a protective style often felt damaging instead.

I knew I needed an option that didn’t involve tension, pulling, or sitting in a salon chair for eight hours — especially while dealing with hair loss.

Why Braided Wigs Became the Solution

That’s when I started thinking about launching my own brand of  braided wigs.

The issue is that many braided wigs didn’t look realistic. The lace often appeared grey or ashy, the wigs felt bulky and heavy, and the styles weren’t always current or on trend.

And that’s when the idea for Everbraid truly came together.

What if braided wigs could:

Look like real braids growing from the scalp?

Use transparent lace that blends seamlessly with all skin tones?

Be lightweight and glueless, with no tension on the edges?

Reflect modern, trendy braiding styles?

Be priced reasonably for women in North America?

How Everbraid Was Born

Everbraid was created to solve the exact problems I was experiencing.

I set out to design a line of braided wigs that are:

Glueless and easy to wear

Lightweight and comfortable

Made with transparent lace for a natural, scalp-like finish

Inspired by modern, on-trend braiding styles

Gentle enough for women experiencing hair loss or traction alopecia

Most Everbraid wigs are priced under $200 CAD, which is often less than the cost of getting your hair braided once in Canada or the US. Instead of paying repeatedly for styles you remove after a few weeks, Everbraid offers a reusable, protective alternative that saves time, money, and stress.

Braids Without the Commitment

Everbraid is for the days you don’t want to spend eight hours in a salon chair.
It’s for the moments you want to look polished and put together in minutes.
It’s for women who want protective styling without tension.

Most importantly, Everbraid is for the modern woman — the woman who values style, convenience, and her hair health. It’s a protective option not just for everyday wear, but especially for women experiencing hair thinning, traction alopecia, or other forms of hair loss.

Everbraid was created from real experience, real frustration, and a real desire to offer a better solution. It’s not just about braided wigs — it’s about confidence, ease, and giving women back control over how they show up.

This is the beginning of the Everbraid story — and we’re just getting started.
